GP and Nurse Consultations

All of our doctors are fully trained in the speciality of General Practice. They have completed hospital rotations in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Medicine for the Elderly, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Psychiatry and have a wealth of experience in General Practice behind them. Consultations are performed in the surgery. We can also provide house calls and virtual consultations in special circumstances as pre-arranged with the doctors. Our nurses provide specialised nursing consultations and chronic disease management.

We provide medical treatment for all, from the newborn period to later life and end of life care.

Paediatric Medicine

We perform 2 and 6 week baby checks as part of the Mother and Infant Care Scheme.

Our nurses administer baby vaccinations in accordance with the HSE immunisations guidelines. Please see http://www.immunisation.ie for further information. We provide care for those children with the Under 6 GP visit cards. We manage all aspects of children’s health and well-being. We monitor their development and general medical complaints.

Women’s Health

• Cervical Smears
  Smear tests are essential to detect pre-cancerous cells of the cervix. If discovered early, this condition is very treatable. We provide cervical smears under the national Cervical Check Scheme. Please check for eligibility on http://www.cervicalcheck.ie.
  We also provide smear tests for women who are not eligible under this scheme.
• Antenatal and Postnatal Mother and Baby Care.
  We provide maternity shared care with the obstetric units of all the main obstetric hospitals. We also work with the community midwife clinics based out of Roselawn Health Centre.
• Contraception
  We provide all contraceptive advice and services. This includes prescribing oral and alternative contraceptive products. We also insert and remove all hormonal and non-hormonal intra-uterine contraceptive devices. e.g. Mirena, Jaydess and Kyleena devices and the Copper Coils. We also insert the contraceptive implant. i.e. Implanon.
• Fertility
  We advise women on pre-conceptual care and starting a family. We also provide advice and investigations for those individuals who are experiencing difficulties conceiving.
• Breast Examination
  We perform full breast examinations to all women as required. We can refer to the various breast clinics nationally in the case of any abnormalities. We recommend all women over the age of 50 and under the age of 68 ensure that they receive their regular mammograms. Please see the following website for more details: http://www.hse.ie/Breast/Check
• STI screening
  We provide specialised swabs and blood tests for a full sexual transmitted disease screen.

Mens Health

• We provide medical care for all general physical problems and concerns.
• We screen for risk factors for various diseases and give advice on disease prevention.
• Urinary problems and prostate screening are also provided.
• We deal with all problems relating to sexual health and provide all screening for sexually transmitted diseases.
• We also investigate and manage erectile dysfunction.

Chronic Disease Management

This involves managing long term illnesses such as

• Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease
• Diabetes Mellitus: both Insulin dependent and Non-insulin dependent
• Cardiovascular Disease including provisions of ECGs
• Blood Pressure including 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
• Raised cholesterol: advice and management

Mental Health

All doctors are well experienced in the diagnosis, management and treatment of all mental health difficulties.

Removal of wax or any foreign bodies

Cryotherapy

We provide cryotherapy for all Warts, Veruccas and Benign Skin lesions
